Legendary Coach Steve Hertz set to Retire

SteveHertzMDC Steve Hertz who has served as the Miami Dade College Baseball coach for the last 26 seasons is set to retire at the end of the 2010 seasons. Hertz’s teams have been ranked in the top 10 nationally on 10 separate occasions (1986, ’87, ’88, ’92, ’96, ’98, 2001, ’07, ’08, and ’09). He led the Sharks in 2001 to the State and Gulf District Championship while getting a fifth place finish at the JUCO World Series.
