JimStone Boston Globe correspondent John Vellante recently wrote a fantastic article on former UMass-Lowell manager Jim Stone who won over 800 games in his 37 year career. He had 11 NCAA Northeast Regional Appearances, two Division 2 College World Series Appearances and was named NEIBA Coach of the Year seven times while being named ABCA Northeast Region Coach of the Year on five occasions. He told Vellante that his biggest accomplishment was sending over 50 players onto professional baseball whether the minor leagues or independent ball. He is set to be inducted into the ABCA Hall of Fame tonight.
