Kentucky senior LHP James Paxton filed a lawsuit on Wednesday against the University of Kentucky. According to a New York Times article, Paxton was told in October to meet with an NCAA investigator but was instructed to not tell his parents or his lawyers about the interview. Kentucky Athletic Director Mitch Barnhart told Paxton that he would not be allowed to play on the team without submitting to the interview.

Top 100 Countdown: Number 48 Daniel Bibona (UC-Irvine)
The CBB continues our countdown for the 2010 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.
We continue the list today with number 48 in our countdown with UC-Irvine senior LHP Daniel Bibona. He is from Lake Forest California and graduated from Santa Margarita High School. His senior season saw him go 5-4 on the mound with a 1.81 ERA and struck out 69 batters in 46 innings of work.

Villanova signs four for 2010-2011 season
VILLANOVA, Pa. – During the recent early signing period which ended on November 18, head coach Joe Godri signed four scholastic players to National Letters of Intent. The group of four recruits includes two pitchers and two position players. All four players are expected to enroll at Villanova in the fall of 2010.
"We were able to address all of our immediate needs with this signing class," Godri said. "The four players we signed during the early period are good students academically and outstanding athletes who have experience playing for some of the nation’s top club teams."

CORAL GABLES, Fla. - Home series against Florida, North Carolina and Virginia and a total of 36 regular season games at Alex Rodriguez Park at Mark Light Field highlight the 2010 University of Miami baseball schedule, as announced by head coach Jim Morris on Wednesday.
The 56-game slate also features an exhibition contest against the Florida Marlins on March 3, 19 games against 2009 NCAA Tournament teams and a total of 44 games played inside the state of Florida.
Oklahoma releases 2010 Schedule

NORMAN, Okla. — University of Oklahoma Vice President/Athletics Director Joe Castiglione and head coach Sunny Golloway released the Sooners’ 2010 baseball schedule consisting of 56 regular season games on Wednesday.
Overall, Oklahoma will face 12 opponents, for a total of 28 games, that participated in last year’s NCAA Tournament, including five non-conference opponents in Arkansas, Indiana, Jacksonville, San Diego State and TCU.
Eastern Illinois releases 2010 Schedule

CHARLESTON, Ill. – Eighteen home games and a return to Florida for the annual spring break trip highlights Eastern Illinois baseball’s 2010 schedule, unveiled by head coach Jim Schmitz.
The Panthers, who are the defending Ohio Valley Conference regular-season champions, are slated to play three-game series at Southeastern Louisiana (Feb. 19-21), Belmont (Feb. 26-28), UAB (March 5-7) and South Florida (March 12-14) before league play opens the weekend of March 27-28.

Cullowhee, N.C. – Western Carolina third-year head baseball coach Bobby Moranda today released his squad’s 2010 schedule which includes six teams that made the NCAA Baseball Championships a season ago, three of which were number one seeds. The 56-game slate features 28 home dates, three-game series with each Southern Conference foe and non-conference meetings with perennial powers Clemson, Charlotte, East Carolina, Georgia, Georgia Tech and Tennessee.
Harvard releases 2010 Schedule

CAMBIDGE, Mass. - Harvard has posted its completed 2010 baseball schedule. Joe Walsh’s Crimson plays its first 22 games away from home in what will be a 43-game regular season schedule.
Harvard begins its season March 6-7 at the Bright House Invitational hosted by Stetson University in DeLand, Fla. The Crimson opens on the 6th with a split doubleheader. Harvard starts out with an 11 a.m. game against Notre Dame, which will be looking to avenge a 4-0 loss to the Crimson early in the 2007 season. Harvard returns to the diamond at 7 p.m. that night to face the host Hatters team. The next day Harvard confronts Kansas State in a noon start.
Illinois State releases 2010 Schedule

NORMAL, Ill. - Illinois State will play five consecutive games against 2009 NCAA Tournament teams to begin its spring trip and will match-up with 11 teams that won at least 30 games last season in a highly competitive 2010 baseball schedule released Tuesday.
The Redbirds will begin spring break with games against 2009 NCAA Tournament qualifiers Indiana (March 5), Vanderbilt (March 6), and Kent State (March 7) at the Music City Classic hosted by the Commodores in Nashville, Tenn., before taking on Florida (March 9-10), last year’s No. 8 overall seed, in a two-game midweek series in Gainesville, Fla. Illinois State’s schedule features 53 games, including 19 contests at home against regional foes Illinois, Northern Illinois, Eastern Illinois, Purdue, and Valley rivals Southern Illinois, Wichita State and Bradley.

We continue the list today with number 49 in our countdown with junior Georgia RHP Justin Grimm. He is from Bristol Virginia where he graduated from Virginia High School. He played under head coach Mark Daniels. He had an outstanding senior season which saw him go 9-1, 1.48 ERA, 93 Ks and 18 BBs in 54.2 IP as he led the Bearcats to a state quarterfinal berth. The Boston Red Sox selected him after the season in the 13th round but he could not come to terms thus sending him to Georgia to play under Dave Perno.

College of Charleston signs Nine for 2010-2011 Season
College of Charleston baseball coach Monte Lee announced Tuesday the signing of nine student-athletes to national letters of intent for the 2011 season.
The class is made up of six position players and three pitchers from four different states. The class consists of five high school players and four junior college players.
"I’m extremely excited about the 2010 class," said second-year Cougar coach Monte Lee. "Coach (Dan) Roszel and coach (Chris) Morris have done an outstanding job of bringing in top rate talent that will impact our program as soon as they set foot on campus."
Oregon State releases 2010 Schedule

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State baseball team will play 33 home games at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field in 2010, which highlights the season’s upcoming schedule released Tuesday by head coach Pat Casey.
The 33 home games are the most played in school history at Goss Stadium, which has stood on the Oregon State campus since 1907. Among other highlights to the schedule includes 10 games against 2009 NCAA Tournament clubs, three games against Tennessee at the 2010 Papé Grand Slam, and a 12-game homestand that begins March 12 and ends March 28.
