The CBB continues our countdown for the 2010 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.
We continue the list today with number 45 in our countdown with LSU sophomore RHP Matty Ott. He is from Chalette Louisiana and went to Holy Cross High School. He had an outstanding 2008 senior season as he had a 9-2 record with a 1.97 ERA while striking out 87 batters in 67.2 innings of work. As a junior, he had a 0.81 ERA in 78 innings while only walking 12 batters and striking out 101 batters.
The University of South Florida Board of Trustees approved construction and financing of a $30 million athletics project. The plan includes new football practice fields, the redesign of the baseball stadium, a new softball stadium, and a new practice gym for the basketball team. The construction of the football, baseball, and softball facilities are expected to begin around the beginning of the year. This will affect the baseball program which is currently looking at alternate facilities to play their 2010 slate. A couple of sites that have been mentioned are the Yankees Complex in Tampa and Al Lang Stadium in St. Petersburg. You can check out the full press release on the new facilities below.
