Paul Mainieri named Sportsperson of the Year

PaulMainieriLSUBack in the middle of the 1990’s, I remember sitting around watching some Providence College vs Notre Dame baseball watching Paul Mainieri leading his Irish. My biggest question back then was whether Paul would get his chance to lead a major program. He eventually got his chance in taking over LSU on June 26, 2006 and leading them to the 2009 College World Series title. The Shreveport Times recently honored him as the 2009 Sportsperson of the Year.
