Ranaudo is a good pitcher, but there are alot of good pitchers that are going to challenge him for the top spot. Deck Mcguire, my favorite is ALEX WIMMERS – of Ohio State – has proved himself in the Cape, Mat Harvey, to name a few.

Ranaudo has the pressure being number one. It will be interesting tosee who steps up to the plate. Again my bet is on ALEX WIMMERS – clearly #2 or #3 starter in MLB.

There is alot of action around Wimmers – following interviews.

Wimmers providing he does well – 1st 2nd 3rd RHP in draft.

Wimmers went 1-2 against ranked opponents

Georgia in the Tallahassee Regional:

4 IP eight hits, 10 runs, 8 earned, seven walks, and five strikeouts.

Minnesota

6.2 innings, ten hits, and seven runs.

Yes, he beat Miami early in the season when they were number 2 in the country but we know that they were overrated.

Todd Cunningham Jack State doesn’t knock on the door for a least the third team, come on he led the cape in hitting this past summer and doesn’t even e a sniff. I call BS

Points well taken. Minnesota lead the conference most of the year until the last game. If you know anythign about Minnesota, great team, short, scrappy, bunt opposite field, punch hitters. Well coached. If you look at the game Minnesota had two 3 run innings with not so good defense. If you had a chance to see the game you could have seen the plays.

Even though Wimmers had 10 strikouts (but you did not mentioned that so I will) another point to mention that you did not was that this was WIMMERS 4th (Fourth Start) in 15 (Fifteen days) only getting 3 and 4 days rest. Major league scouts say you need 5 to 6 days between starts.

On March 20th Wimmers threw 9 inning against Indiana (top ranked team very good team Arnet and Phelegy – drafted) Arnet and Wimmers Co-Pitcher of the year. Wimmers had 14 KO’s and a shut out. THOUGHT I’D MENTION IT.

Finally, Georgia I hope you got to see that game, I did. Terrible. Georgia is monentem team. Georgia knows Wimmers KO record, they were tight. Wimmers strikes out the 1st batter – Georgia down – next batter error on short stop throwing and before the play was over Verdin score – A HR on a dribbler to SS – Georgia crowd and team went crazy from that poing on it was down hill

By the way did you see that ball park they played in 280 ft fences to right – Guess where Georgia hit most of their hit. Right field. Georgia great team well coached them been there. All by the way Ohio STate came back and Beat Georgia to knock them out of the tournament. Ohio State threw a LHP – so Georgia could only hit to left. Pitched outside the entire game. GO FIGURE

Lesson learned by WIMMERS and Ohio State coaching (they made the adjustment and that is what baseball is all about.

WIMMERS must have learned something – dominated CAPE – best players in the country.

Thanks for your input. I think if you did an interview with WIMMERS it would be a great interview!!!!!!!!

Really surprised that Cole only made third team and that Sonny was left off. Arguably the two best summers with Team USA and they can’t crack the AA teams?

Wimmers is high on my list of the Top 100 countdown of players.

BKMHOXX (Aman Reaka) December 23, 2009 - 11:40 am

Wimmers is no doubt one of the top 3-5 RHP in all of college baseball.

Ben Thomas from Xavier gets overlooked again. He easily is one of the top 8 first basmen in the 2010 draft class. He doesnt get the credit he deserves simply because of the conference he plays in. He can swing it with the best of all college hitters.
