Wichita State signs Seven for 2011
WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State has received a national letter-of-intent from seven baseball players in the early signing period, Head Coach Gene Stephenson announced Nov. 17.
Bob Arens, a catcher from Northwest High School in Wichita, Kan.; Zach Beringer, a right-handed pitcher form Harrisburg High School in Harrisburg, Mo.; Cale Elam, a right-handed pitcher and infielder from Oktaha High School in Oktaha, Okla.; Kris Gardner, a left-handed pitcher from Prestonwood Christian Academy in Plano, Texas; Josh Halbert, an infielder from Choctaw High School in Choctaw, Okla.; Albert Minnis, a left-handed pitcher from Lawrence High School in Lawrence, Kan.; and Dayne Parker, a shortstop from Roff High School in Roff, Okla., have signed national letters-of-intent with the Shockers.
South Carolina releases 2010 Schedule

The South Carolina baseball team has announced its schedule for the 2010 season featuring 25 games against 2009 NCAA Tournament teams as well as 33 home games at Carolina Stadium. The season opens on Friday, February 19 as Carolina hosts a three-game series vs. Duquesne. The schedule also includes 30 Southeastern Conference contests, a three-game series with in-state rival Clemson, and an early-season weekend series and rematch with 2009 NCAA Regional opponent East Carolina in Greenville, N.C.
Duke moves 18 games to DBAP

DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke baseball team has reached an agreement with the Durham Bulls to play 18 home games in 2010 at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park, home of the Triple-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays.
"This is another addition to the growing entertainment district of Downtown Durham," Durham Bulls General Manager Mike Birling said. "Bringing ACC Baseball to the Durham Bulls Athletic Park is a terrific opportunity for fans to watch great college baseball in a fan-friendly setting while giving our staff an invaluable opportunity to prepare for the Durham Bulls season."
VU donor steps up for Baseball Program
The Nashville City Paper has an excellent article on Vanderbilt baseball donor Bill Kaye. He donated $500,000 which is going to stadium renovations at Hawkins Field and for the team to go on an eight-day, four-game exhibition tour through Japan. This is an important trip for the Commodores as it gives them an extra 10 days of practice for the tour and four games against international competition.
CCBL inducts 10 to Hall of Fame
The Cape Cod Baseball League had its induction ceremony to their Hall of Fame over the weekend. They inducted ten different people including Harold “Pie” Traynor, Lou Lamoriello, Joe Magrane, Art Quirk, Bill Schroeder, Greg Vaughn, Mark Angelo, John Awdycki, Zane Carlson, and former Chatham manager Joe “Skip” Lewis.
Jeff Stevens added to ECU Coaching Staff

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Jeff Stevens has been named the volunteer baseball coach at East Carolina University according to an announcement from head coach Billy Godwin Monday.
Prior to his appointment at ECU, Stevens spent part of the 2008 season as the bench coach for the Danville Braves, where he maintained opponent scouting reports, assisted with instruction of the catchers and daily practice routines and coordinated team travel arrangements to and from the field.
LSU starts Fall Series Today

BATON ROUGE — Game 1 of the LSU Baseball Purple-Gold World Series begins at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Alex Box Stadium. The three-game intrasquad series signals the conclusion of LSU’s five-week fall practice session.
Game 2 is set for 3 p.m. Wednesday and Game 3 starts at 3 p.m. Thursday. All games will be seven innings, and they are open to the public with free admission.

EIU adds seven for spring of ’11
CHARLESTON, Ill. – Striving to build on two Ohio Valley Conference championships the last two years, head coach Jim Schmitz has announced Eastern Illinois baseball’s seven-player recruiting class set to join the program for the 2011 season.
Top 100 Countdown: Number 64 Logan Verrett (Baylor)
The CBB continues our countdown for the 2010 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.
We continue the list today with number 64 in our countdown with Baylor sophomore RHP Logan Verrett. He is from Corpus Christi, Texas where he attended Calallen High School where he played under Steve Chapman.
Fall Ball Recap for November 16th
Sale continues to impress Scouts
Chris Sale of Florida Gulf Coast continues to impress MLB scouts as he recently took part in FGCU Scout Day. Sale is a huge 6-6 185 pound lefty as he tossed 20 pitches topping out at 94 MPH while his changeup was 84 MPH while he has a deadly slider at 82 MPH. He was named the top prospect in the Cape Cod Baseball League after going 4-2 with a 1.47 ERA with 57 strikeouts while giving up only nine walks. The CCBL named him the Pitcher of the Year for his accomplishments on the diamond.
