Here are your listings of Early Signing Day Classes for the 2010-2011 season that were released today.

Northwestern State signs seven for 2011 Team

NorthwesternStateSignees NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State baseball head coach Jon Paul Davis has announced the signing of seven players to his 2010 class – three area high school players and four junior college transfers.

The three area players are outfielder Austin Alexander of St. Mary’s High School in Natchitoches and pitchers Josh Sims and Jacob Roark out of LaSalle High School in Olla.

The four transfers include infielder Raymond Frias of Odessa College, infielder Ryan Westbrook of Panola Junior College, pitcher Joe Scanio of St. Charles C

Oregon State signs Ian Kendall

Ian Kendall recently signed his national letter of intent to join the Oregon State baseball team for the 2011 season. He is a native of Ashland, Ore., the same area and high school as current Oregon State right-handed pitcher Sam Gaviglio.

Kendall was named the Southern Sky Conference’s Player of the Year as an outfielder his junior campaign after batting .478 with six home runs and 28 RBI. He also pitched, going 6-1 with a 1.36 ERA.

LA Tech signs Six for 2010-2011 Season

RUSTON– Six high school prep stars signed National Letters of Intent and will be a part of the Louisiana Tech baseball program in 2011, CoachWade Simoneaux announced today.

“I like the fact that all our signees are high school guys,” Tech head coach Wade Smoneaux said. “They all had opportunities to go elsewhere and chose Tech in the end. We don’t usually go after junior college players unless we have to. With high school players we can bring them in and develop them as they learn how our program is run. I think that is why we have had so many guys drafted over the years.”

UAB adds Tyler Hamby to Recruits for 2010-2011 Season

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Tyler Hamby, an infielder from Moody High School in Moody, Ala., has committed to UAB and the Blazer baseball program.

Hamby is a career .362 hitter at Moody with 100 hits, including 28 doubles, and 51 RBI in his three years at the school. Hamby, who also owns 26 career stolen bases, has a career on-base percentage of .426 and a career slugging percentage of .554.

Houston adds Six for 2010-2011 Season

HOUSTON – The University of Houston baseball team made preparations for the 2011 season with six athletes signing National Letters of Intent during the early signing period, head coach Rayner Noble announced.

Lucas Moran, Jacob Dahlstrand, Mitchell Taylor, Chase Wellbrock, Chad Rogers and Ryan Broussard will join the program during the 2011 season.

Samford Recruit Profile: Charles Basford

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford Baseball coaching staff has released the names of the 10 players added to the program in the 2010 signing class in the early period. Today we continue the series of profiles on each of the players with a detailed article released on them with their full backgrounds leading to their arrival at Samford. Today’s baseball signee in the spotlight is Charles Basford.

Charles Basford (6-2, 210, RHP, Pensacola JC, Tallahassee, Fla.) is a big right handed pitcher that was named Second Team All-Panhandle Conference after his freshman year after leading PJC in innings pitched, strikeouts and ERA as the team’s top starter. Basford is the third addition in this class from the outstanding Panhandle Conference in Florida.

UNC signs 16 for 2010-2011 Season

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The University of North Carolina baseball program continued its strong showing on the recruiting trail by signing 16 of the nation’s top prep baseball student-athletes to National Letters of Intent during the early signing period, head coach Mike Fox announced Tuesday. Included in this class are five of the nation’s top 50 prospects and seven of the top 20 players in the state of North Carolina, according to various rankings.

The 16 student-athletes will enroll at UNC in August 2010 and will take the field for the Tar Heels in the 2011 season.
