Hofstra releases 2010 Schedule

PatrickAndersonHofstra Hempstead, NY- Second-year Hofstra University Head Baseball Coach Patrick Anderson today announced the 2010 Pride schedule, which features a series against a NCAA Tournament qualifier.

Hofstra will again undertake a challenging non-conference slate, including a season-opening three-game series against Troy University in Alabama starting with an Opening Day tilt Feb. 19.

Texas Tech Fall Series starts on Friday

TexasTechPhoto LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech will begin its annual Red & Black baseball series on Friday, Oct. 24 just hours before the No. 21 Red Raiders battle the Texas A&M Aggies on the gridiron inside Jones AT&T Stadium.

The start of the annual Red & Black series was pushed up from Sunday to Friday in order to allow fans from out of town the chance to get a glimpse of this year’s team as part of the Texas Tech-Texas A&M football weekend.

Tulane releases 2010 Schedule

TurchinStadium NEW ORLEANS - The 2010 Tulane baseball team will play one of the most competitive schedules in school history with a 56-game national slate featuring teams from nine different conferences, 19 contests against 2009 postseason teams, 10 outings against in-state rivals and three first time opponents, and Green Wave fans will have the opportunity to watch 40 home games at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium, as announced today by Tulane head baseball coach Rick Jones.

FSU Fall Scrimmages starts Today

CBB Top 100 Countdown: Number 90 Daniel Tillman (Florida Southern)

Tillman_D_09 The CBB continues our countdown for the 2010 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.

We continue the list today with number 90 in our countdown with Florida Southern junior RHP Daniel Tillman. He is a 6’1 195 pound righhander from Live Oak, Florida and Suwannee High School. He was a third-team all-state selection in his junior and senior season.

Murray State Announces 2010 Schedule

MurrayState A home-and-home series with Kentucky and Western Kentucky, along with a road game at Ole Miss, highlight the 2010 Murray State baseball schedule that was announced by head coach Rob McDonald Thursday.

“Our 2010 schedule will be very competitive,” said McDonald.  “The tough non-conference schedule will prepare us to make another run at the Ohio Valley Conference championship.  I am excited to have home-and-home series with local rivals Western Kentucky, Evansville, Arkansas State and Belmont, as well as a trip to Ole Miss.”

South Carolina Fall Series starts on Thursday

JayBrownSouthCarolina Columbia, S.C. – It will be a baseball extravaganza this weekend at Carolina Stadium as the Gamecocks close out fall team practice with the Garnet & Black World Series. First pitch for game one is Thursday night at 7:15 p.m. with game two set for Saturday at 12:15 p.m. and Sunday’s finale a 1:30 p.m. start. The team will have the day off on Friday for the Alumni Game that is set for 7 p.m.

Senior right-handed pitcher Jay Brown will manage the Garnet squad while senior catcher Kyle Enders will serve as manager for the Black team. Both players selected their teams. Admission is free of charge to the Garnet & Black World Series and to the Alumni Game.

East Carolina releases 2010 Schedule

BillyGodwinECU GREENVILLE, N.C. - Thirty-six home games at Lewis Field inside Clark-LeClair Stadium, including the Seventh-Annual Keith LeClair Classic, highlight the 2010 East Carolina baseball schedule announced Wednesday morning by head baseball coach Billy Godwin.

The 2010 slate features 17 games against teams that earned a bid to the 2009 NCAA Regionals; 32 against teams with 30-plus wins; five that topped the 40-plus win plateau; two that made trips to the College World Series and five that finished ranked in the Top 25 polls, including three in the Top 10.

Vanderbilt releases 2010 Schedule

TimCorbinVandy NASHVILLE, Tenn. — 35 home games and series against 2009 national champion LSU and College World Series participant Arkansas highlights the 2010 schedule released today by Vanderbilt head coach Tim Corbin.

The Commodores will face 13 teams that made the NCAA tournament a year ago and 14 teams that finished with 30 or more wins.

Due to changes in the start date for baseball, Vanderbilt will open the season at home for the first time since 2005 as Niagara comes to Hawkins Field the weekend of Feb. 19-21 for a three-game series. VU will play Austin Peay on Feb. 23 before heading to Los Angeles to participate in the Jackie Robinson Tournament the weekend of Feb. 26-28. The Commodores will take on UCLA (Feb. 26) and USC (Feb. 27) at their home parks before concluding the trip against Big 12 power Oklahoma State (Feb. 28) at Dodger Stadium.

Baseball America releases 2010 Recruting Class Rankings
