Loyola Marymount Announce Schedule for 2010 Season

JasonGill LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Second-year Head Coach Jason Gill has announced a 2010 Loyola Marymount University baseball schedule that features 16 games against 2009 NCAA Regional teams, including a home-and-home two-game series against 2009 College World Series qualifier Cal State Fullerton. In just his first season as a Division I Head Coach last year, Gill guided LMU to its first West Coast Conference Championship appearance since 2005.

Louisville releases 2010 Schedule

LouisvilleAndrewClark LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville baseball head coach Dan McDonnell released the Cardinals’ 2010 schedule on Thursday and it includes 31 games at Jim Patterson Stadium, 41 games against BCS Conference schools and 12 games against NCAA Regional teams from last year.

The Cards, which won swept the BIG EAST Conference and regular season titles and advanced to the NCAA Super Regional in 2009, will play seven games against Big Ten competition and six games against Southeastern Conference teams, including a three-game series at reigning SEC champion Ole Miss.

UGA Infielder Chance Veazey Injured (UPDATE)

ChanceVeazeyInjured Georgia infielder Chance Veazey was injured in a motor vehicle crash on Wednesday night after leaving the Rankin Smith Student-Athlete Academic Center. According to a press release from Georgia Sports Information, he suffered a back injury and was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital. (Press Release). If Veazey misses any time during the 2010 season, it will hurt the Georgia program as he was expected to compete for a starting spot in the lineup.

First look at New TD Ameritrade Park (New CWS Home)

6-10-09 Stadium 1 Kendall Rogers of Rivals.com recently was able to acquire some nice aerial photos of New TD Ameritrade Park where the College World Series will be held starting in 2011. I was in Omaha for the 2009 CWS and thought that the new location for the CWS was much better then Rosenblatt which is located in a neighborhood with very little parking. The new stadium is right across the street from the Qwest Center which is 18,300 seat arena with plenty of parking around it.

Maryland to start Fall Series on Friday

DavidPoutierUMD COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The University of Maryland baseball team will hold its inaugural Black and Red "World Series" Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Shipley Field.

The three-game, intra-squad scrimmage will cap off fall practices, and mark the first full-squad scrimmages held under first-year head coach Erik Bakich. Game times are set for 6:00 p.m. Friday, and 1:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. All three games will be free of admission and open to the public.

NC State Fall Series to start Friday

JakeBuchananNCSTATE RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State baseball team will put the finishing touches on fall practice over Halloween weekend with the annual intersquad fall world series. Game times will be 6 p.m. on Friday, October 30; 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 31; and 1 p.m. on Sunday, November 1.

The series will be an opportunity for fans to get a first-hand look at the 2010 team and its nationally 11th-ranked recruiting class. The Wolfpack has 15 newcomers, 11 freshmen and four junior college transfers. Many of them have had impressive falls, and will be pushing for playing time in the spring.

La Tech to start Fall Series on Monday (UPDATE)

LaTechLogo RUSTON–Louisiana Tech’s baseball seniors gathered at head coach Wade Simoneaux’s house Saturday night and held the team’s annual draft for the Fall World Series which is set to begin Friday, Oct. 30 at 6:00 p.m. at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park.

After the team’s seniors were served a full meal of baked potatoes, beans, garlic bread and steaks by Simoneaux; the seniors were split into two teams of four seniors a piece. On one side there was John Anderson, Drew Thomas, Jonathan Mire and Clint Stubbs while on the other team was Clay Alexander, Jamey Bradshaw, Alex Richard and Devon Dageford.

MikeOjalaBaseballAmerica The CBB continues our countdown for the 2010 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.

We continue the list today with number 83 in our countdown with Rice senior RHP Mike Ojala. He is from Kingwood Texas where he attended Kingwood High School. He had an solid high school career as he was a two year letterwinner and went 18-5 with a 2.00 ERA.

Georgia Tech releases 2010 Schedule

DannyHallGT ATLANTA - Highlighted by five Atlantic Coast Conference home weekend series’, Georgia Tech baseball’s 2010 schedule as announced Wednesday by head coach Danny Hall includes 10 teams that participated in the 2009 NCAA Tournament.

The Yellow Jackets open the 2010 campaign with eight games in the first 10 days, beginning with Missouri State for a three-game weekend series, Feb. 19-21, at Russ Chandler Stadium.
