Topeka leaves MINK League

TOPEKA, KS - The Topeka Golden Giants are announcing plans to leave the Missouri Iowa Nebraska Kansas League (M.I.N.K. League) for the upcoming 2010 season. The Golden Giants will instead play an independent schedule and will fill 25 home dates this summer.

The Golden Giants have enjoyed their relationship with the M.I.N.K. League and it’s member franchises throughout their first five years of existence, but feel the time is right to move in another direction.

Presbyterian College releases 2010 Schedule

PresbyterianCollege Clinton, S.C. – Presbyterian College head baseball coach Elton Pollock is proud to announce the 2010 slate of games which will feature 54 games and 22 home contests.

The season opener comes at the USC Upstate Tournament as the Blue Hose play Appalachian State on February 19. A day later, the Blue Hose face USC Upstate before closing out the weekend with the home opener coming on the 21st against USC Upstate.

Rice opens up Fall Practice

AnthonyRendon Houston — Rice head baseball coach Wayne Graham welcomed back 22 returning lettermen from last season’s team that earned the program’s 15th-straight bid to the NCAA Tournament, and a total of 13 newcomers to the roster, as the Owls held their first fall practice of 2009 on Monday afternoon (Oct. 5) at Reckling Park.

Dan Pepicelli named to Clemson Coaching Staff

DanPepicelli Clemson, SC – Clemson Head Coach Jack Leggett announced the addition of Dan Pepicelli to the baseball coaching staff on Tuesday. Pepicelli replaces Kyle Bunn, who accepted a position on the Alabama coaching staff on September 9, 2009.

Pepicelli (pronounced peh-pih-SEH-lee) spent the past nine seasons (2001-09) as the head coach at Saint John Fisher College in Rochester, NY. Pepicelli, who also served as pitching coach during his tenure with the Cardinal program, led it to a 200-136-1 (.595) record. In the program’s first 13 seasons, it had just three winning seasons. But in Pepicelli’s nine seasons with the Cardinals, he directed them to seven winning seasons and one .500 campaign. In each of his last seven seasons with the Cardinals, he directed them to the postseason, including their first Division III Championship berth in 2007. The Cardinals also won ECAC Upstate Championship titles in 2004, 2005, 2007, and 2009.

Louisiana starts Fall Practice

RaginCajunsBP Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns baseball team returned to the field Monday to begin their second week of fall practice at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field.

Practices will be held the remainder of the month of October on Monday-Friday from 2:15-3:45 p.m., with an intrasquad scrimmage to follow. The squad will take Saturdays off and finish up weekly practice on Sundays from 1:00-3:00 p.m.

East Carolina to start Purple-Gold Series on Tuesday

Louisiana releases 2010 Schedule

ULBaseball Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns baseball team will enjoy a home-laden schedule as there are a total of 33 games scheduled for M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field in 2010. Fans will get to watch plenty of action right from the start as the Ragin’ Cajuns will play 15 of their first 17 games at Moore Field.

Tony Robichaux’s squad has mid-week trips to LSU (March 24) and Tulane (April 27) and will play Troy, Middle Tennessee and Western Kentucky at Moore Field.
