UC-Davis releases 2010 Schedule
San Jose State starts Fall Practice

San Jose, Calif. – The 2009 Western Athletic Conference champion San Jose State University baseball team begins fall practice on Wednesday, October 14.
San Jose State head coach Sam Piraro, who will be in his 23rd campaign in 2010 after earning WAC Coach of the Year distinction in back-to-back years, currently has 41 student-athletes on the fall roster, with 18 returners, 13 National Letter-of-Intent signees and 10 walk-on hopefuls. There are only three seniors in the program, in fourth-year infielders Karson Klauer and Corey Valine, and third-year outfielder Alex Sofranac.
UNC releases 2010 Schedule

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Highlighted by five exciting Atlantic Coast Conference weekend series at state-of-the-art Boshamer Stadium, the University of North Carolina’s 2010 baseball schedule was released Wednesday. The Tar Heels, who have made four consecutive trips to the College World Series and are the nation’s winningest team since 2006, will play 37 times on their home field.

Cal Poly releases 2010 Schedule

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – Eleven games against Pacific-10 Conference teams and three-game home series against USC, Houston, California, Long Beach State and UC Irvine highlight the 2010 Cal Poly baseball schedule announced Tuesday by head coach Larry Lee and director of athletics Alison Cone.
The Mustangs will open the 2010 campaign, Lee’s eighth as head coach at Cal Poly, with a three-game set against the Southern California Trojans on Feb. 19-21 in Baggett Stadium.
Coastal Carolina releases 2010 Schedule

CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina University baseball team and head coach Gary Gilmore have announced its 2010 schedule today (Oct. 14). The slate includes four in-season tournaments at home, five home games against West Coast powers, six games against teams from the Atlantic Coast Conference and a 27-game Big South schedule.
Ole Miss releases 2010 Schedule

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss baseball team will play 34 home dates in the 2010 baseball season head coach Mike Bianco announced on Wednesday, as the Rebels look to defend their 2009 Southeastern Conference Championship and earn a ninth berth in the NCAA Tournament over the last 10 seasons.
The Rebels’ schedule will feature home SEC weekends against Florida, Tennessee, LSU, Arkansas and Auburn, while Ole Miss will go on the road to face Kentucky, Georgia, South Carolina, Mississippi State and Alabama. Vanderbilt rotates off the Rebels’ schedule in favor of the Tennessee Volunteers this season.
Virginia Tech prepares for Fall World Series

BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Virginia Tech baseball team will conclude its fall practice schedule this weekend by holding the annual Hokie Fall World Series, a three-game, intrasquad affair that will take place at English Field.
The two teams will face off three times from Oct. 15-18. First pitch is set for 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, with Friday being a designated off day. Saturday’s game will also begin at 5:30 p.m, while Sunday’s game will begin at 4 p.m.
CBB Top 100 Countdown: Number 98 Jeremy Schaffer (Tulane)
The CBB continues our countdown for the 2010 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.
We continue the list today with number 98 in our countdown with Tulane sophomore catcher Jeremy Schaffer. He is from Bellaire Texas where he attended Bellaire High School. He was a four year letter winner in high school where he hit .404 with eight homers and 40 RBI in his senior campaign.
