nesseth_croppedPhoto Nebraska head coach Mike Anderson has released the 2010 slate for his Cornhuskers.  The Huskers finished a disappointing last place in the Big 12 last year but are looking to get back to being a mainstay at the College World Series like they were at the start of the decade.

The Huskers will begin the 2010 season on the West Coast, as they travel to California to take on Fresno State (Feb. 19-22) in a four game set.  Nebraska will then visit Houston, Texas, to take part in the Rice Invitational (Feb. 26-28) where they will play games against Texas A&M Corpus Christi, host Rice, and Elon.

The first game of the season at Hawks Field will come when the Huskers take on South Dakota State (March 2) in a mid-week tiff.

Nebraska will then venture back to California for the second time of the year to face off against the UCLA Bruins (March 5-7).  After returning home, the team will wrap-up pre-conference play with a mid-week game against in-state Nebraska-Kearney (March 10) and a weekend set against Houston Baptist (March 12-14).

The Cornhuskers will open Big 12 play on the road against the 2009 Big 12 champion and College World Series runner-up Texas Longhorns (March 19-21).  Nebraska will also have road conference series at Oklahoma State (April 2-4), Kansas State (April 9-11), Baylor (April 23-25), and Missouri (May 14-16).  The Huskers will host four Big 12 conference series at Hawks Field as they welcome in Oklahoma (March 26-28), Kansas (April 16-18), Texas A&M (April 30-May 2), and Texas Tech (May 21-23).

The Huskers also boast a notable non-conference games against Wichita State (April 13) as well as a road mid-week contest at Big 10 foe Iowa (April 27).  The 2010 Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Championship will be held at AT&T Ballpark in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, from May 26-30.
