The University of Pittsburgh is currently in the process of getting a new Olympic sports facility which will be used for the baseball, softball, and soccer programs. The baseball facility is expected to include hitting and pitching practice areas, team dugouts and a press box. Synthetic grass will allow the Panthers to play and practice throughout the year, while lighting will allow for evening games.
The key contributor for the funds of this new facility are John and Gertrude Peterson who also helped fund the Peterson Event Center where the basketball program currently plays in. I have included a drawing below and you can check out the full press release from Pittsburgh by clicking here.
