Head coach Tony Gwynn has released the 2010 schedule for his San Diego State Aztecs. The Aztecs will enter the 2010 campaign without Stephen Strasburg, the first overall selection in the 2009 MLB Draft. SDSU will begin the season with six straight games at Tony Gwynn Stadium. The Aztecs host Oklahoma and Indiana (Feb. 19-22) opening weekend before a mid-week contest with UC Riverside (Feb. 23) and a split four-game weekend series against cross-town rival San Diego (Feb. 25-28).
The Aztecs will then make a return trip to UC Riverside (March 2) before hosting Kentucky (March 4) and Monmouth (March 5-6) and the San Diego State Tournament (March 12-14) with contests against Texas State, UAB, Cal State Fullerton, and San Francisco. SDSU will host Santa Clara (March 20-23) during a weekend set before opening conference play at home against New Mexico (March 26-28).
The Aztecs will also play Mountain West series at Tony Gwynn Stadium against Utah (April 16-18), Air Force (May 7-9), and UNLV (May 20-22). Tony Gwynn’s squad will hit the road for conference games at TCU (April 1-3), Air Force (April 9-11), New Mexico (April 30-May 2), and BYU (May 13-15). The Mountain West Conference Tournament (May 25-29) will be hosted by SDSU at Tony Gwynn Stadium. The Aztecs have other notable non conference games against Long Beach State (March 9 & April 27) and UC Irvine (April 6 & 20).
Head baseball coach Tony Rossi has finalized the Siena Saints’ 2010 slate. The Saints will get familiar with travelling early in the season, as the team plays its first fifteen contests away from home. Siena opens the 2010 campaign with eight games in the state of Florida as they visit Stetson (Feb. 20-23), Florida (Feb. 25), and Central Florida (Feb. 26-28). The Saints will vacate the state of Florida for a four game series at South Alabama (March 5-7) and a weekend series in Athens against the Georgia Bulldogs (March 12-14).
The Saints will have their home opener when they host Holy Cross (March 17) for a doubleheader. After weekend series at NYIT (March 20-21) and Radford (March 27-28), Siena will open MAAC play at home against Niagara (April 2-3). The Saints will also have home conference series against Iona (April 24-25), St. Peter’s (May 8-9), and Fairfield (May 14-15). Siena will hit the road for MAAC contests at Marist (April 10-11), Canisius (April 17-18), Rider (May 1-2), and Manhattan (May 22-23). The MAAC Tournament will begin May 27 in Fishkill, New York.
