CBB Top 100 Countdown: Number 93 Aaron Meade (Missouri State)

AaronMeade The CBB continues our countdown for the 2010 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.

We continue the list today with number 93 in our countdown with Missouri State junior LHP Aaron Meade. He is a 6’2 175 pound left-handed pitcher out of Rockhurst High School and Kansas City, Missouri. His senior season saw him go 4-2 with a 2.25 ERA and win Rockhurst High School’s Pitcher of the Year award.

His freshman season at Missouri State saw him serve as the number three starter in the rotation for most of the season as he accumulated a 4-3 record with a 5.53 ERA. He was a force on the hill in getting strikeouts as he had 65 in 58.2 innings for an average of 9.97 strikeouts per nine innings. He held his opponents to a .259 average against him while only giving up two homers.

He spent the summer of 2008 with the Chillicothe (MO) Mudcats in the MINK League where he pitched 50 innings while having a record of 4-1 with a 3.24 ERA. He continued his dominance on the hill by striking out 54 batters in the league.

Meade had a breakthrough 2009 season which saw him appear in 15 games (14 starts) while going an impressive 9-2 with a 3.39 ERA. He finished the season with 89 strikeouts in his 90 innings pitched. He also held opponents to a .232 batting average.

After the 2009 season, Meade made the trek to the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League where he pitched in eight games (seven starts). He went a respectable 3-1 with a 1.91 ERA in 42.1 innings pitched while striking out 47 batters. Meade was named to the Cape Cod Baseball League All-Star game for his accomplishments where he did not see any action due to the fact the game was shortened due to rain.

Seen where Aaron pitch for the Mudcats and conjurers up great memories for me as my son has played many games on thr Mudcats home field. A real beauty of a complex over looking good old rural Missouri. Keep throwing the gas Aaron.
