Ole Miss closer Jake Morgan to miss 2010 season

JakeMorganOleMiss Ole Miss RHP Jake Morgan will miss the 2010 season due to Tommy John surgery on his pitching elbow. He finished last season with a 4-1 overall record with nine saves and a 3.24 ERA. He also struck out 55 batters in his 41.2 innings of work while only letting up seven walks.

This is a huge loss for the Rebels heading into next season as they will need to find a replacement for Morgan at the back end of games. David Goforth is the most likely candidate to take over the closer’s role as he had three saves last year while going 1-1 with a 2.80 ERA.
