Texas A&M-Corpus Christi head baseball coach Scott Malone has announced the addition of James Mansinger to his staff. Mansinger will serve as the team’s pitching coach on the field while also being responsible for camps and field maintenance.
“James was chosen from an excellent list of candidates,” said Malone. “He compiled an amazing record while at Texarkana. He was able to take a program that when he arrived wasn’t a top program in the state and built it to one of the top junior teams in Texas. He built the program with his ability to recruit and instruct.”
Mansinger boasts over 10 years of experience as a coach on both the junior college level – with eight of the 10 teams he was a part of advancing to the regional tournament – and high school levels with numerous summers spent with collegiate leagues. Much of his coaching career was spent as both an assistant and head coach at Texarkana College. He spent eight seasons at the school with five as the head coach. The newest Islander coach also spent time as an assistant at Vernon Regional Junior College. In the summers, he has coached for the Moose Jaw Diamond Dogs and for Topeka (Kan.) in the Jayhawk Summer Collegiate League.
At Texarkana, Mansinger posted an impressive record of 207-97 as the head coach winning three Region XIV East Conference titles. In 2005, he guided the Bulldogs to the Junior College World Series winning the Region XIV title, the Region XIV East Conference title, and Southern District Championship. He earned ABCA Coach of the Year and Louisville Slugger Coach of the Year recognition, along with conference, region and district coach of the year honors.
“James is an excellent addition,” said Malone. “Our program got better the day he decided to come here. I’ve known him for years as a player when I was a student assistant and as a coach through recruiting. He is an extremely hard worker and an excellent family man.”
Mansinger and his wife Emily have two children, Colby (6) and Anna Kate (2). He holds a Bachelors of Science degree in physical education from Hardin- Simmons and a Masters of Science degree from Texas A&M-Texarkana.

I know Mansinger personally,, what a joke of a statement on the “great family man.” The guy was a great coach but he let himself get out of hand and acted scandalous. I reallly respected the guy until some things happened that showed his true colors, Karma James…
