Marist names Chris Tracz as Head Coach

christraczPOUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Marist Director of Athletics Tim Murray announced the hiring of Chris Tracz as head baseball coach on Wednesday. Tracz pitched at Marist from 2001-05 and holds the program’s career records for victories, strikeouts, complete games, starts and innings pitched. Victoria Generals Sign Left Handed Pitcher

St. Joe’s set to play 2010 in Camden NJ

camdennjPHILADELPHIA – Saint Joseph’s University and the Camden Riversharks have reached an agreement that will allow Saint Joseph’s to play its entire 25-game 2010 home schedule at Campbell’s Field in Camden, N.J.

The move to Campbell’s Field is the first step in the planned transition to playing home games at an on-campus facility in the near future. A new home field for the Hawks is included in the University’s master plan for the use of the space on the Maguire Campus that opened in 2008. Read the rest of this entry »

Charlotte’s Hall and Dartmouth’s Enriquez promoted

Loren Gibbs of Charlotte has announced that assistant Brandon Hall has been promoted to Associate Head Coach after serving the past seven seasons with the 49ers. In addition, he has been the recruiting coordinator for the past five seasons. “Over the past seven years, Brandon has developed into one of the top assistant coaches in this region,” said Hibbs. “He has displayed a tremendous work ethic, an incredible desire to improve and a loyalty to our program and this institution that is unmatched. He fits with our overall program philosophy and has been a major factor in our success in recent years. Team USA drops 8-3 decision to Japan

(TSURUOKA, Japan) – Team Japan struck out 14 U.S. batters and Team USA stranded 16 runners on base as it fell to Japan 8-3 in game four of the 37th Annual USA vs. Japan Collegiate Championships in Tsuruoka, Japan.

Takahiro Araki hit a two-RBI single to left center in the first inning and Shota Ishimine followed with an RBI single in the second for a 3-0 lead on USA starter Trevor Bauer (UCLA). Read the rest of this entry »

Wake Forest and East Carolina name new Assistant Coaches

billcilentoWake Forest new head coach Tom Walter has announced that he has hired Bill Cilento as an assistant coach. He comes over from Brown University where he spent the last three seasons. He brought the Brown Bears to the NCAA Tournament in 2007 where they led the Ivy League in every offensive category including winning the team batting average title by 39 points. Ga State Adds Seven to Squad

Coming off the most successful season in school history, the Georgia State baseball team has added seven student-athletes who signed a National Letter of Intent during the spring signing period as announced by head coach Greg Frady on Tuesday morning.

The Cape Cod Times does an excellent job covering the Cape Cod Baseball League day in and day out. They have been putting out some outstanding features in the recent days that you should check out.
