The Portland Pilots enter the 2010 campaign off the heels of a very disappointing 2009 season that saw the team finish with a 25-26 overall record and 7-14 record in West Coast Conference play. Head coach Chris Sperry will be seeking his first winning season in his career at Portland.
The Pilots begin the season with a four game home series against Seattle February 26-28 followed by a mid-week home game against Division III power George Fox on March 2. Portland then hits the road for a three game set at Arkansas State on March 6-8, a mid-week game at Memphis on March 8, and a tournament at Oregon State March 12-14.
Portland continues the road trip with a three game series at Utah Valley before returning home for a mid-week game against Concordia on March 23 and a weekend series against Southern Utah on March 26-28. The Pilots will begin West Coast Conference play on the road at San Francisco April 1-3. The opening weekend of conference play will be followed by a mid-week road trip to take on in-state foe Oregon State on April 6. The Pilots will then have a seven game homestand with a conference series against Saint Mary’s on April 9-11, followed by a mid-week game against Washington on April 13 and a WCC series against Loyola Marymount April 16-18.
The Pilots will then hit the road for a return trip to Washington for a mid-week game on April 20, followed by a conference weekend series at Santa Clara April 23-25. The road trip continues with a non-conference series at Seattle and concludes with a mid-week game at Oregon on May 4. Portland returns home for a West Coast Conference series against San Diego May 7-9 and a mid-week contest against Oregon State on May 11.
The Pilots then have a home game against Oregon on May 18 sandwiched between two West Coast Conference road series, one against Pepperdine on May 14-16 and the other against 2009 West Coast Conference Champion Gonzaga on May 21-23 to finish the season.
