CBB Column: Top Prep Players in the State of Texas-Part III

Here is the 3rd part of a 5 part series of the small sampling of the best prep school players in the state of Texas. These prep players are in the middle of making a tough decision on where to play baseball for the next 3-4 seasons. The early signing period officially begins on November 11 and ends eight days later on November 19th.

#31 Mark Gillean OF 5-8 165 Denton High School, Denton, Texas- Honorable Mention District 5-4A, Named to the 1st Team Class 4-A Area All-District Baseball Team,

#32 Tyler Green Second baseman, Brazoswood, Jr. 6-1 175 2010 Brazoswood TX-The first-team all-district pick hit .388 with 10 homers and 38 RBIs and also pitched for the Buccaneers. 1st Team All-Houston as a Utility Player, Member of the 2009 Texas Rangers Area Code Team. #33 Derrick Hadley – RHP, 6-0/175, 2010, Navasota (TX) HS- Selected to the 2nd team All-Brazos Valley Baseball Team(2009), Named Defensive MVP of the All District 24-3A, As a Sophomore was named 2nd Team All District, was named to the 2009 UNDER ARMOUR PRE-SEASON ALL-AMERICA TOURNAMENT: TOP PROSPECTS. #36 Matt Hicks MIF RHP 5-8 160 R R Bridge City Bridge City TX- Member of the Golden Triangle Summer Select team, in 2009 Hit .379 in 86 ABs, was named Most Valuable Player on the 2009 All-Orange County Baseball Team.

#37 Tevin Hollins OF Gar. Lakeview Garland, Texas- 1st Team All-District 10-5A 2008-2009, Hit .347 in 96 ABs in 2009,

#38 Geoffrey Jackson OF 6-3 175 R R Elkins Sugar Land TX-Member of the SW Diamond Jax Summer Team,

#39 Tyrell Jenkins RHP 6-4 180 R R Henderson Henderson TX- Earned 3rd Team All State of the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Assocation All-State Teams, earned Honorable Mention from Texas Sports Writers Association All-State Baseball Team, was voted Most Valuable Player on the District 14-4A baseball team, Member of the Columbia Angels Summer Select Team, Member of the 2009 Texas Rangers Area Code Team.

#40 Dexter Kjerstad OF RHP 6-0 180 R R Randall Amarillo TX-1st Team All District 3-4A, Member of the 2009 Texas Rangers Area Code Team, hitting .514 with 46 runs, 51 RBIs and just 10 strikeouts in 111 at-bats.
