Rada USAF ACADEMY, Colo. – Air Force baseball coach Mike Hutcheon announced today the hiring of Matt Rademacher as an assistant coach. Rademacher comes to the Academy after graduating from Coastal Carolina University in 2007 as an all-conference catcher.

A native of Bay City, Mich., Rademacher will be responsible for the Falcon catchers and will also be working closely with assistant coach Chandler Rose and the hitters.

"I am very pleased to announce that we have added Matt Rademacher to our staff," Hutcheon said. "We were specifically looking for a guy that could coach catchers and assist with the hitters, and we found the right fit. Matt comes from great programs that have won at the highest level and I am excited for what he will add to our program. We are very pleased to have a coach with his passion and experience."

Most recently, Rademacher finished playing professionally with the Traverse City Beach Bums of the Frontier Independent League. There he helped anchor a pitching staff which was second in the league in ERA while throwing out potential base stealers at a 45% clip.

In 2007, Rademacher earned first-team all-Big South honors as a catcher as well as a second-team all-region selection during his senior year at Coastal Carolina. Academically, Rademacher was an all-Big South Academic selection in both 2006 and 07. He also helped lead Coastal Carolina to their first regional host in school history in 2007 by hosting the Myrtle Beach, S.C., regional.

Prior to Coastal, Rademacher spent three years, including a red-shirt year, at the University of Michigan.

From 2003-06, Rademacher spent the summers in Alexandria, Minn., where he played for the Alexandria Beetles of the Northwood’s Summer Collegiate League.
