The early game of the day was the loser’s bracket championship game between Oregon State and Texas A&M, with a spot in the regional final on the line.  The Beavers scored six in the first inning and never looked back, solidifying their spot in the night game against TCU.  Here is your day 3 recap for the Fort Worth Regional.

(3) Oregon State 13, (2) Texas A&M 5

Fort Worth, Tex. – Koa Kahalehoe went 5-for-5 and drove in three runs, and Jorge Reyes pitched a complete game with six strikeouts as the Beavers eliminated Texas A&M 13-5 in the Fort Worth Regional on Sunday.

The win keeps the Beavers (37-18) in the NCAA Tournament and a second chance at Texas Christian. The two teams will match up at 5 p.m. Pacific Time on Sunday. Oregon State will need a win over TCU for a chance to play a third game between the two schools on Monday at 6 p.m. that would determine the winner of the regional.

Kahalehoe hit third in the order for the first time this season and made the decision pay off, tying a school record with five hits and driving in three runs while scoring two of his own. The effort raised his batting average 42 points to .272. The Beaver left fielder now has six RBI in the regional.

Reyes got the start for the Beavers and threw his first complete game of the season, and the third by an Oregon State pitcher all year. He held the Aggies (37-24) scoreless through 5 1/3 innings before giving up a solo home run to Joe Patterson. With the win Reyes improved to 6-2, tying him with Tyler Waldron for second-most on the team.
