MAC East Division Player of the Week
Ryan Schlater, Bowling Green, Catcher
Sophomore, St. Paris, Ohio (St. Paris Graham)

Green catcher had his best week and weekend of the season hitting safely in all four games as the Falcons took two of three games from Akron to win the league title after having played Oakland mid-week. Schlater played the last two innings of the Oakland game and had one hit, a single, in two at-bats. In the Akron series, Schlater hit .727 with five RBI and four runs scored batting in the #8 spot in the order for two games and in the #6 hole for the other contest. In the first game of the series, Schlater was 4-for-5 with three RBI and one run scored in the Falcon victory. Schlater tied a school record with three doubles in the game while also hitting a two-run home run, his first of the season. He was 1-for-2 with a triple in the loss to Akron in the second game of the series. In the league title-clinching win in the finale, Schlater was 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored with one of his hits a double.

MAC West Division Player of the Week
Jordin Hood, Northern Illinois, Outfield
Junior, Hawthorn Woods, Ill. (Lake Zurich)

Jordin Hood hit .421 in four games for NIU with five runs, eight hits, 11 RBI, three homeruns, a walk, a steal, a .476 on-base percentage and a .895 slugging percentage … Against UW-Milwaukee on Tuesday, he went 2-for-5 with two runs and a career-high five RBI on two homers for his third career multi-homer game … On Thursday versus WMU, he went 4-for-6 with two runs, a homer, a walk and four RBI … On Saturday against WMU, he went 2-for-4 with a run, two RBI, a steal and was hit by a pitch for the 23rd time, which ranks third nationally … His huge final week of the season helped him establish career-bests in batting average (.382), runs (57), hits (76), doubles (15), homers (10), RBI (46) and steals (14).

MAC East Division Pitcher of the Week
Alex Loftin, Akron, Freshman
Stow, Ohio/Stow

Loftin was outstanding in his start against MAC leading BGSU on Saturday, picking up the 17-4 win in eight strong innings on the hill. Loftin surrendered just three earned runs on six scattered hits while tallying a career-high seven strikeouts to record the win. After allowing three runs in the first frame, Loftin held the Falcons scoreless across his next seven frames of work. The win allowed the Zips to remain in contention for a MAC Tournament berth.

MAC West Division Pitcher of the Week
Jordan Glover, Eastern Michigan, Freshman
Toronto, Ontario/Ontario Schools

EMU freshman hurler Jordan Glover tallied a career-high nine strikeouts over eight innings of work to lead the Eagles to a 5-0 win over Central Michigan, May 15, at Oestrike Stadium. Glover gave up just three hits and walked two in eight innings to earn the win and pitch EMU’s first shutout since the 2007 season.
