PLAYER OF THE WEEK
JOEL BLAKE, SOUTH DAKOTA STATE
SO., LANGELY, BRITISH COLUMBIA/LETHBRIDGE COLLEGE

Blake captures Player of the Week honors after leading SDSU with a .611 average in a four-game series win over IPFW. The sophomore had 11 hits, seven doubles, six runs, six RBI and a home run. He also drew one walk and only struck out once in 18 at-bats. Blake doubled in every game against the Mastodons, including hitting two doubles in each of the last three contests.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
JOHN STRAKA, NORTH DAKOTA STATE
FR., CHASKA, MINN./CHASKA HS

Straka pitched a complete-game shutout last week to earn his first career Pitcher of the Week award. The outing was his fourth complete game and second shutout of the season. Straka struck out eight Leathernecks, while only giving up four hits and one walk in the seven innings. He leads the Bison with a 3.13 ERA on the season.
