NCAA Regional Projections (April 16)
For the third straight week, Cal State Fullerton takes the top overall seed in the CBB projections. The Titans currently hold the top overall RPI, ISR, and strength of schedule. They also have an impressive 21-8 record against the RPI top 100.

Texas State Signs Southpaw for 2010

Lee Colon will join the Texas State Bobcats in 2010.
SAN MARCOS – Texas State baseball head coach Ty Harrington has announced the signing of left-handed pitcher Lee Colon to a National Letter of Intent this afternoon.
“Lee is an outstanding competitor and will come into this program with a great amount of drive and talent,” said recruiting coordinator Derek Matlock. “With the loss of some key senior players next season, he will be able to step right in and have an immediate impact.”

Cape Cod All-Star Game heads to Fenway

Tickets for the Governor’s Cup Game at Trustmark Park Tuesday night were scaled from $10 to $28. This was for college baseball.
Don’t think those prices, in this bleak economy, scared anyone off. All were sold by Monday. The announced crowd was 7,458, standing room only. For a midweek game. That doesn’t count in the standings.

PLAYER AND ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Freshman Joe Sclafani (Palm City, Fla.) continued his torrid hitting this week, hitting .522 with four multi-hit games, two doubles, three triples, seven runs and eight RBIs in Dartmouth’s five games. The reigning Rookie of the Week began the week with a four-hit game, tying the school record with two triples in the game, and driving in four runs. CBB Visit: Texas A&M at Rice

The Rice Owls and Texas A&M Aggies entered Tuesday night’s game from opposite directions. The Owls began the day winners of nine of their last ten games, while the Aggies were losers in four of their last five. Rice was sporting a perfect 3-0 record against Big XII competition this season, including an early season 2-0 defeat of Texas A&M in the Houston College Classic. That would all change on Tuesday night, as the Aggies would pick up a big-time road win and snap a six game losing streak against their old Southwest Conference rival. Read the rest of this entry »
