NEW YORK, N.Y. — The Cornell baseball team picked up a split of its doubleheader at Columbia on Saturday afternoon, winning the opener, 8-4, before dropping the nightcap, 4-2, at Robertson Field in New York City. CBB Visit: Kansas at Texas Tech (4/17)

#30 Kansas (24-13) started the season with a no-hitter against Air Force. Unfortunately, Texas Tech (17-23) is not Air Force. Shaeffer Hall, the pitcher who threw the no-hitter did not last long in the opening game of the 3-game series. After beginning the game with a 4-0 advantage, the Red Raiders cut the lead to 1 run in only 3 batters. It was a common theme all night. Kansas would score, then Tech would answer back in the bottom half. After the final out was recorded, Texas Tech found themselves with 15 runs on a season-high 21 hits and another conference win against a ranked opponent. Read the rest of this entry »

JAMAICA, N.Y. – Senior Jake Geglein (Cincinnati, Ohio/McNicholas) recorded a six-out save to become the University of Cincinnati’s all-time saves leader as the Bearcats downed St. John’s 11-8 Friday evening at Jack Kaiser Stadium. Geglein struck out four batters and scattered just two hits to earn his 16th career save, surpassing Curtis Moak, who recorded 15 career saves from 1998-01. Read the rest of this entry »

WACO, Texas — Aaron Miller blasted a two-out, two-run homer well over the wall in right-center in the top of the first inning, and Kendal Volz never relinquished that lead as seventh-ranked Baylor defeated Oklahoma State 8-5 in Friday night’s Big 12 Conference series opener at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium. Baylor (25-11, 10-6) earned its first victory in a series opener at Stillwater since 2003. Oklahoma State (24-15, 4-9) has lost five straight Big 12 games.
