CBB Visit: Georgia State at Northeastern

pesanello081BROOKLINE MASS.- A tough conference loss for Northeastern could provide a confidence booster down the stretch for an already potent Husky pitching staff.

CBB Visit: Virginia at Boston College (April 19th)

Chestnut Hill MA- The Virginia Cavaliers took the rubber game against the Boston College Eagles 2-0 in ACC Baseball action on Sunday afternoon.

Boston College sent sophomore LHP Pat Dean to the mound while Virginia sent sophomore RHP Robert Morey to the hill. Dean entered the game with a 4-2 record with an ERA of 3.67 while Morey had a 0-0 record with a 3.63 ERA in ten appearances and only one start. Read the rest of this entry »

Big 12 Recap 04-19-09

Here is your  Big 12 Recap for Sunday April, 14th. There was  two sweeps this weekend with A&M sweeping Nebraska and Texas beating up on Oklahoma. In other action, Kansas and Kansas State were able to come back  and win on Sunday as they defeated Missouri and Texas Tech respectively to salvage the final games on Sunday. The Baylor and the Oklahoma State game on Sunday was washed out due to poor field conditions and will not be made up per Big 12 rules. After today’s action, Texas sits atop the Big 12 with a league record of 12-6 while  Texas A&M(11-7) is one game back and  Baylor(10-7) is 1.5 games back.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Right-hander Matt Harvey matched a season-high with seven strong innings, and All-America Dustin Ackley went 4-for-4 with two extra-base hits to spark No. 4 North Carolina to a 4-1 win and a series sweep of No. 7 Miami Sunday at Boshamer Stadium. The Tar Heels (31-10, 13-7 ACC) earned their first three-game sweep in ACC play this season and improved to 9-1 in their last 10 games against the Hurricanes (26-13, 11-10 ACC). CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Mark Fleury tripled and scored the game-tying run in the eighth and delivered a walk-off game-winning single in the 10th to lift No. 4 North Carolina to a 5-4 win over No. 7 Miami Saturday on dedication day of the newly-renovated Boshamer Stadium. With the victory, the Tar Heels (30-10, 12-7 ACC) clinched their fourth straight series win over the Hurricanes (26-12, 11-9 ACC) and took their third series from a top-10 opponent this season. QUEENS, N.Y. – Sophomore Joe Panik had five RBI and two of St. John’s five home runs in a 16-8 victory against Cincinnati. Greg Hopkins, Joe Witkowski and Tim Morris each added home runs and every Red Storm starter had at least one hit. Hopkins had three RBI, while Morris and Witkowski added two apiece to lead St. John’s (20-13, 9-5). Bruce Kern (3-2) earned the win, tallying 10 strikeouts in 6.0 innings of work. T.J. CBB Visit: OU Vs. Texas (April 18th)

When Texas and Oklahoma get together most people have an image of the State Fair of Texas and the Red River Rivalry taking place at the Cotton Bowl. Although these two schools have a heated rivalry in football but it does not stop there. UFCU-Dish Falk Field had the largest attendance yesterday of the year as these two teams went head to head for 1st place in a Big 12. Due to the rainout on Friday evening, the teams would play a doubleheader.
