MLB Draft Shifts to Prime Time

The 2009 Major League Baseball Draft will be the first of it’s kind.  The commissioner’s office released a statement today saying this year’s draft will be held at 6 P.M. on June 9 at the studios of the MLB Network in Secaucus, New Jersey.

The first day will include the first three rounds plus two compensation rounds, totaling 111 picks.  The second day of the draft, tentatively scheduled for June 10, will include rounds 4-30.  The next day will see the final 20 rounds take place.  The second and third days will be held via telephone conference call.
