Team One South | Top 10 Honorable Mention – Scouting Reports: Recognizing additional players from Team One South was more difficult than choosing the Top Ten. Our scouting staff has been going back and forth for the last week in determining the additional players we would like to recognize. These 18 participants showed our scouts that they too deserve some acknowledgment.

Zachary Briggs | C/1B | 5’10/215 | R/R | Richardson Pearce (TX) | 2008
Zachary is a player that you must watch play. He plays the game the way it is suppose to be played and plays it hard. He is solid behind the plate and will control the running game with his arm and feet. His best tool, arguably, may be his ability to produce quality at bat after quality at bat. Briggs also showed some pop in his approach. He truly shows a love for the game by the ways he approaches it.

Perfect Game Cross checker Report Aug 07: Zachary Briggs is a 2008 C/3B/1B. from Dallas, TX who attends Richardson Pearce HS. He’s surprisingly quick behind the plate for his build and stays compact and short in his actions. He threw a strong 76 mph during drills with a best pop time of 1.93 but was even more impressive during games. At one point he threw out 5 runners in 3 innings, including all 3 outs of one inning, each with tag throws on the bag in the 2.0-2.1 area. He has strong hands behind the plate and receives the ball easily and smoothly. Offensively, Briggs as a loose swing with quick hands and showed pull line drive power. He uses his strength well at the plate and has the same sort of quick compactness he has on defense. Briggs has the tools and skills to play well at the next level, He is a good student off the field.

Clemons has also come to terms with Creighton Hoke a Freshman at San Jacinto-North. The Sugarland native will provide a huge target at first base as he stands 6-5. He also will play a little third base and pitch for the Generals.

The Generals will continue to release the names of players that have agreed to play in their inaugural season which begins June 5th.
