Game 1: Bucknell 2 Holy Cross 1
Game 2: Bucknell 15 Holy Cross 3

WORCESTER, Mass. – The start of Bucknell’s four-game baseball series at Holy Cross was delayed one day, but it didn’t seem to bother the Bison, who swept a doubleheader from the Crusaders on Sunday at Fitton Field. Bucknell claimed game one by a 2-1 score behind a complete game four-hitter from Trey Frahler (Northfield, Ill./New Trier). In the nightcap, the Bison pounded out 14 hits and received three runs batted in from both Doug Shribman (Marblehead, Mass./Belmont Hill School) and B.J. LaRosa (Jacksonville, Fla./Episcopal) as they won by a 15-3 margin.

Bucknell (14-18, 6-4 Patriot League) won for the third time in its last four games after snapping a four-game losing streak. With Army’s sweep of Navy on Sunday, the Bison are now in first place in the Patriot League standings, one-half game ahead of Lafayette, which is 6-5. Holy Cross is now 12-19 overall and 4-4 in PL play.

Game 1: Lafayette 4 Lehigh 0
Game 2: Lafayette 2 Lehigh 0

EASTON, Pa. – Pitching was the name of the game on Sunday afternoon as Lafayette pitchers tossed two shutouts to give the Leopards 4-0 and 2-0 victories over Lehigh. With the two wins, Lafayette improves to 6-5 in league play and will look to win the series in Monday’s finale.

The Leopards (16-16, 6-5) took the first game behind the solid pitching of starter Jeremy Atkins, who scattered just five hits over six scoreless innings. Rookie Jeff Snell came on in the ninth to pick up his first save of the season and clinch the 4-0 Lafayette victory. In game two, Corey Shea went the distance, tossing nine shutout innings with three strikeouts and no walks.

A.J. Pisarri, Daniel Bierce and Justin Shepherd all finished the day with three hits apiece. Those three hits give Bierce 170 for his career, good for 10th all-time in Lafayette history.

Game 2: Army 6 Navy 0 (7 innings/Darkness)

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Kevin McKague ripped three hits in both games and Kirk Porter and Tyler Anderegg combined on a three-hit shutout in the nightcap as Army claimed its sixth consecutive “star” against arch-rival Navy by sweeping an Easter Sunday doubleheader from the Midshipmen at gusty Doubleday Field.

After outlasting Navy 9-6 in the opener, the Black Knights dealt the Midshipmen a 6-0 loss in the second game. With the victories, Army ran its winning streak against Navy to nine games and climbed back into the thick of the Patriot League playoff race. The Black Knights have now defeated the Mids in 20 of the teams’ last 23 meetings, spanning six seasons.

The first game featured a matchup of two of the Patriot League’s top left-handed pitchers in Army’s Matt Fouch and Navy’s Sam Long. But both starters struggled in the windy conditions and neither lasted past the third inning.
