asuarkansas1This is a new feature on the site where I will talk about some of the biggest news stories of the past few days.

The Arkansas Razorbacks picked up another victory over Arizona State on Wednesday night to sweep the brief two game set from the Arizona State Sun Devils in front of a record crowd at Baum Stadium. I guess people will have to respect the Razorbacks 24-6 record. They will now host Vanderbilt in an SEC series this weekend. Arizona State will head home to take on a tough Washington State squad.

Washington State has jumped into our Regional Projections this week (LINK). They went 4-1 over the last week as they took two out of three games from UCLA and picked up two mid-week victories over BYU. They are only 14-13 on the year but have played a very tough schedule and their RPI is high. Matt Way has been fantastic in his first seven starts to the season as he is 4-2 with an ERA of 1.65. He has struck out 51 batters in his 49 innings of work.

Does anyone recognize that Bryant University is 24-9 on the year in their first season of Division 1 play? They picked up a 8-2 victory over Harvard to up their home record to a perfect 5-0. They are still not eligible for the NCAA Tournament but you have to give Jamie Pinzino credit for keeping the Bulldogs competing day in and day out with no postseason dreams.

Georgia Southern’s lineup is hitting the ball better then anyone else in the country as they are averaging 15.6 runs over the last five games with a three game sweep over College of Charleston and splitting with Georgia Tech including a 23-3 victory on Wednesday.

Tony Sanchez of Boston College and Tommy Medica of Santa Clara who entered the season as two of the best catchers in the country have come up with injuries recently. According to a few sources, Sanchez was getting checked out after being injured on Tuesday while Medica is facing shoulder surgery after dislocating his shoulder in early March and has been seeking second and third opinions.

CBB Contributor Colin Weber has done his Regional Projections as he has Cal-State Fullerton still as the number 1 overall seed but has many different changes this week. You can check out the full article by clicking here.

I have joined the Twitter community over the last couple of weeks but I really don’t know exactly how to use it. You can follow my updates by clicking here. Yes, sometimes it will not deal with College Baseball exactly but you can see what I am up to.
