Nolan Moody threw Michigan State’s first no-hitter in over sixteen years to earn CBB Pitcher of the Week, and Chris Wallace of Houston put together a 9-for-18 week at the plate, including three homeruns and thirteen RBI, after missing nineteen games after taking a fastball to the face during the final game of the Houston College Classic earlier this year to earn CBB Hitter of the Week.
Moody toed the rubber for the opening game of the Spartans’ series against Northwestern, and he didn’t disappoint. Moody had a perfect game working until a two-out walk in the eighth inning. He would walk one more batter in the ninth, but a game-ending double play sealed the no-hitter and Michigan State victory.  Moody also struck out five batters, which tied his previous career-high. His feat was the first in a Big Ten Conference game since 2006.
Wallace returned to the Houston lineup on Wednesday against UTSA and homered in his first plate appearance in over a month. He would finish the game with four hits, including two homeruns, and career-high six RBI. Wallace would add another homerun and seven RBI over the weekend during a series against Texas-Pan American. When the week came to a close, Wallace had posted a .500 average, .550 on base percentage, and 1.222 slugging percentage. Wallace’s play lead the Cougars to a perfect 4-0 week.
