WASHINGTON, D.C. – The No. 19 Salisbury University baseball team had two pitchers combine to throw 10 shutout innings as the Sea Gulls swept Gallaudet University 18-0 and 13-0 in a Capital Athletic Conference doubleheader on Saturday afternoon in Washington, D.C. SU now has 10 shutout victories on the season as the Sea Gulls extended their scoreless inning streak to 18 consecutive innings.

Salisbury (24-4, 12-3 CAC) was led in the opener by sophomore starting pitcher Alex Duda who threw a complete game. Duda (3-0) picked up his third win of the season after he threw five scoreless innings and limited Gallaudet (2-20-1, 0-16 CAC) to just one hit. The game was called after five innings due to lighting.

The Sea Gulls were equally impressive in the second game. Sophomore starter Drew Baldwin (1-0) ran his scoreless inning streak from the beginning of the year to nine innings as he threw SU’s second complete game shutout of the day. Baldwin was phenomenal as he limited the Bison to just two hits in five scoreless innings. The Salisbury offense was paced by junior first baseman Mike Celenza and freshman Bill Morton who both hit one home run apiece. The game was cancelled in the fifth inning because of rain.

Salisbury looks to continue its winning ways tomorrow (Sunday, April 5) when the Sea Gulls host Allegheny College in a doubleheader which will begin at Noon.
