Another CBB reader passes away

Jeff Taylor Sr. who was a constant reader of this site including sending us multiple links and videos over the last year. Delaware at UNC-Wilmington Cancelled

The CAA weekend series between Delaware and UNC-Wilmington has been cancelled due to fears of the Swine flu that has been reported on the Delaware campus and baseball program. According to a press release by the CAA, one of the Delaware players has fallen ill with the suspected Swine flu virus that has also cancelled high school games in Texas and Alabama. NCAA Regional Projections (April 30)

For the second week in a row, North Carolina takes the top overall national seed in The College Baseball Blog’s Regional Projections.  The Tar Heels are in first place in the ACC, and have the top overall RPI according to Boyd’s World.

Cornell defeats Princeton in Gehrig League Playoff

The Cornell Big Red defeated Princeton 9-0 on Wednesday in an Ivy League Playoff game for the Gehrig Division title. Cornell jumped on Princeton in the first inning as they scored all nine runs of the game in that inning. Cornell now advances to face Dartmouth in the Ivy League Championship series that will take place in Hanover NH this weekend. The full recap of the game is available below. Four Teams Left in Hunt for American Southwest Conference Title

CLINTON, MS – The championship round of the 2009 American Southwest Conference Baseball Championship Tournament Series will be held Friday-Sunday (May 1-3) at Frierson Field on the campus of Mississippi College.

Playing for the conference championship and a berth into the NCAA Division III Baseball Championship along with host Mississippi College (28-14) will be nationally-ranked Texas-Tyler (34-9), Texas Lutheran (30-12) and Texas-Dallas (27-16).

AUSTIN, Texas — After 10 successful seasons with the Concordia University Texas baseball program, all-time wins leader Mike Gardner will transition from coaching to accept a full-time teaching position with the Kinesiology Department at Concordia. Gardner will begin his new position as an Assistant Professor of Kinesiology on July 1, 2009.

The Mavericks have received signed National Letters of Intent from Preston Beck (Dallas, Texas), Brody Walker (Robinson, Texas), Sam Hansen (Hewitt, Texas), Logan Bawcom (Granbury, Texas) and Josh Christenson (Humble, Texas).
