Stillwater, Oklahoma – Billy Marcoe and Gary Brown each collected three hits and Jared Clark homered and drove in four as No. 6 Cal State Fullerton routed Rhode Island, 17-3, in the first game of a day-night double header at the Oklahoma State Tournament at Reynolds Stadium. BLACKSBURG, Va. – Freshman Levi Michael belted a go-ahead three-run home run in the seventh inning and drove in a career-best five runs to send No. 1 North Carolina to a 7-3 win over Virginia Tech Friday in an Atlantic Coast Conference series opener at English Field. Big 12 Recap for 03-13-09

Kansas 4 vs #4 Arizona State 9
Sophomore Tony Thompson went 2-for-2 with a two-run homer to extend his hitting streak to 21-straight games, but it was not enough for Kansas baseball Friday. Fourth-ranked Arizona State scored five unearned runs in the bottom of the fifth to tackle Kansas 9-4 in a non-conference baseball game Friday at Surprise Stadium.

Lamar 2 at Central Arkansas 10
Central Arkansas scored 10 unanswered runs and Lamar failed to get the timely hits as the Cardinals fell to the Bears, 10-2, at Bear Stadium in the opening game of a three-game Southland Conference series Friday.
Lamar (13-4, 2-2) had just eight hits and left 12 runners on base, including nine in scoring position. Brian Taylor led the Cardinals offesnively with a 3-for-5 day which included two doubles and a run scored.

What a Catch!
There was an outstanding catch in the College of Charleston-Quinnipiac game which was played on Tuesday. The College of Charleston pulled out a 30-10 victory but that was not what the fans were talking about after the game was over. The full video is available below. Read the rest of this entry »

The Big 12 opens up conference play this weekend with 3 weekend series. #6 Texas A&M and #13 Baylor headline the schedule, with a 3-game series split between College Station and Waco. Missouri travels to Austin to take on #3 Texas, while Nebraska will be in Lubbock to battle Texas Tech. #11 Oklahoma State hosts Rhode Island and Cal-State Fullerton in Stillwater at the Oklahoma State Tournament, while #19 Oklahoma travels to Tampa, Florida to play in the USF Bulls Baseball Classic. SEC Weekend Preview

Top ranked Georgia opens SEC play on the road at Alabama.
The SEC kicks off conference play this weekend with all twelve teams in action. Georgia, one of the last undefeated teams left standing, travels to Alabama to take on the Crimson Tide. The Florida Gators hit the road to take on Arkansas, a series of two nationally ranked teams. Kentucky makes the trek south to take on the top ten LSU Tigers in the new Alex Box Stadium. South Carolina travels to Starskville to do battle with Mississippi State.
