FRISCO, Texas – Northwestern State first baseman Justin O’Neal has been named the Southland Conference Hitter of the Week and UT Arlington right hander Nathan Long has been named the Southland Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced Monday. It is the first weekly award this season for each player.

IRVING, Texas—Tyler Farst (Nebraska) has been tabbed the Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Player of the Week, while A.J. Morris (Kansas State) and Nick Fleece (Texas A&M) have been named Co-Pitchers of the Week, for the games of March 23-29, in voting by a panel of media covering the conference.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Utah senior Corey Shimada and San Diego State junior Stephen Strasburg have been named the Mountain West Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively.
Shimada, from Murray, Utah, hit .533 (8-for-15) from the plate, with eight RBI, as Utah went a combined 3-1 vs. Gonzaga and Southern Utah last week. In a 16-9 win in game one of a two-game series at Gonzaga, Shimada went 3-for-5 from the plate with three RBI. He followed with a 1-for-3 performance in a 3-2 loss in game two.
