FRISCO, Texas – Northwestern State first baseman Justin O’Neal has been named the Southland Conference Hitter of the Week and UT Arlington right hander Nathan Long has been named the Southland Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced Monday. It is the first weekly award this season for each player.

IRVING, Texas—Tyler Farst (Nebraska) has been tabbed the Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Player of the Week, while A.J. Morris (Kansas State) and Nick Fleece (Texas A&M) have been named Co-Pitchers of the Week, for the games of March 23-29, in voting by a panel of media covering the conference.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.– Single-handedly responsible for two Hartford wins last week, Hawks sophomore infielder Bobby Gorski (Sewell, N.J./Washington Township) was named America East Baseball Player of the Week for the period ending March 29. A pair of Stony Brook freshmen right-handed pitchers, Tyler Johnson (Chatsworth, Calif./Crespi Carmelite) and Nick Tropeano (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip), received the conference’s Pitcher of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively, after picking up two combined victories in the Seawolves’ 4-0 week. Jr., 1B, Centreville, Va./Westfield

Bour hit .471 (8-17) and drove in 11 runs in George Mason’s 3-1 week. The junior first baseman was 7-for-13 (.538) with two homers, four runs scored and nine RBI as the Patriots won two of three at William & Mary. Mountain West Players of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Utah senior Corey Shimada and San Diego State junior Stephen Strasburg have been named the Mountain West Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively.

Shimada, from Murray, Utah, hit .533 (8-for-15) from the plate, with eight RBI, as Utah went a combined 3-1 vs. Gonzaga and Southern Utah last week. In a 16-9 win in game one of a two-game series at Gonzaga, Shimada went 3-for-5 from the plate with three RBI. He followed with a 1-for-3 performance in a 3-2 loss in game two. Sophomore, 2B, 6-1/180, Warwick, N.Y./Salisbury Academy

Center Valley, Pa. – The home teams posted an 8-2 record on the first weekend of Patriot League Baseball matchups. Bucknell took three of four games against Army, while Navy did the same against Lafayette. Holy Cross swept a Saturday doubleheader against Lehigh in a rain-shortened series.
