Toole led the Hawkeyes to four wins last week, scoring nine runs while driving in nine and raising his batting average 51 points to a team-leading .353 mark. The senior tallied four multi-hit games in six contests and racked up four extra-base hits, including a double and a homer in Iowa’s 25-6 rout over Tennessee-Martin on Wednesday. Wise (Oklahoma) and Kyle Gibson (Missouri) have been named the Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for the games of March 16-22, in voting by a panel of media covering the conference. Gibson earns the award for the second straight week, while Wise is being honored for the first time.

The College Baseball Blog made the trip down to Storrs Connecticut to take in the West Virginia and UConn game on March 22nd. The Mountaineers entered the game with an overall record of 14-5 (2-0 Big East) while UConn had a 7-9 overall record (0-2 Big East).
