The 3rd-ranked University of Texas at Tyler baseball team reeled off 14 hits as they rolled past Austin, 12-5, on Tuesday night at Irwin Field in a non-conference contest.

UT Tyler scored in all but two innings during the contest en route to their 22nd win of the season.

The Patriots led early, but allowed Austin (8-14) to stay alive and led by just two runs going into the bottom of the seventh inning.

UT Tyler scored four runs in the seventh, followed by another in the eight to effectively shut the door on any comeback attempt by the ‘Roos.

Senior Chad Daleiden (Cave Creek, Ariz.) helped lead the Patriots on the day with three hits, two runs, a RBI and a homerun in five at bats.

Senior Jeremy Harding (Houston, Texas) finished the night one homerun short of the cycle, as he went 3-for-5 with two runs, two RBIs, a double and a triple.

Junior Kyle Bondy (Houston, Texas) also had three hits in the game to go along with two RBIs, a run, a double and a walk.

On the mound for UT Tyler, Senior Lex Wolfe (Lakewood, N.J.) moved to 3-0 on the season by allowing just two runs off of three hits with four strikeouts over four innings.

The Patriots will return to American Southwest Conference action on Friday when they travel to Richardson to open a three-game series with Texas-Dallas. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.
