MAAC Player of the Week
Mike McCann, Manhattan
Sophomore, OF, 5-10/175, Belle Harbor, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy

McCann hit .750 (12-14), drove in eight RBI and blasted two home runs, leading the Jaspers to four wins last week. He posted a 1.438 slugging percentage and .810 on-base percentage. McCann began the week batting 2-for-4 with two RBI in a 11-4 victory at BIG EAST member Seton Hall on Wednesday. He notched three doubles and knocked in four RBI in a doubleheader sweep at Saint Peter’s on Saturday. In game two, he hit for the cycle going 4-for-4 from the plate. Then on Sunday, McCann hit 4-for-5, including his third home run of the season en route to a 6-2 win over the Peacocks.

MAAC Pitcher of the Week
Mike Petrowksi, Rider
Senior, RHP, 6-4/190, Hamilton, N.J./Steinert

Petrowski threw a complete game at Niagara, as the Broncs took an 8-1 victory over the Purple Eagles on Saturday. He only allowed one run while striking out five batters and walking none.

MAAC Rookie of the Week
Mark Skrapits, Fairfield
Freshman, SS, 6-2/180, Bronx, N.Y./Regis

Skrapits hit .500 (9-for-18) with five runs scored and five RBI in a 3-2 week for the Stags. Against St. John’s, he went 2-for-4 with a double. In the series with Siena, Skrapits hit .600 (6-for-10) with no strikeouts while scoring five runs and driving in four. In the opener, he went 3-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored. In the Stags’ 4-2 win in game two, Skrapits drew a bases loaded walk in the bottom of the sixth to force in the game-winning run. In Fairfield’s 10-8 win in the finale, Skrapits went 3-for-4 with three runs scored.
