WALNUT CREEK, Calif. — Washington junior outfielder Kyle Conley has been named Pac-10 Baseball Player of the Week and Stanford freshman right-handed pitcher Jordan Pries has been named Pitcher of the Week for for Mar. 2 – 8, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

Conley led Washington to a 4-1 record last week, defeating Oregon twice at home before winning two of three games at Nevada. The Richland, Wash., native hit .474 (9-19), including four home runs, nine RBI and six runs scored. He also walked twice and added two sacrifice flies. In the Huskies’ 7-4 series-clinching win over the Wolfpack on Mar. 8, Conley hit three home runs and drove in all seven runs for UW. For the week, the junior recorded a 1.105 slugging percentage and a .478 on base percentage. He currently leads the Pac-10 with seven home runs on the season.

The Huskies next play host to San Francisco for a three-game series begining Mar. 13.

Pries, making his first career start, helped lead Stanford to a 7-1 upset over second-ranked Texas on Mar. 7. The Alameda, Calif., native pitched 7.1 innings with only three hits, while walking two and striking out four batters as the Cardinal handed the Longhorns their lone loss of the season. The freshman allowed only one Texas runner to get as far as second base before departing with one out in the eighth and a runner on first.

Stanford takes a week off before opening Pac-10 play at rival California on Mar. 21.
