The Texas Longhorns got a complete-game effort from Chance Ruffin and three hits apiece from Travis Tucker and Brandon Belt to post a 6-2 win over the Stanford Cardinal at Sunken Diamond on Friday.

Ruffin (3-0) scattered four hits and three walks while striking out seven over 9.0 innings. The sophomore right-hander yielded just one earned run to earn the win.

The Longhorns pounced on the Cardinal in the first inning when leadoff hitter Travis Tucker launched the second pitch of the game into the trees in leftfield.

Texas (11-0) tacked on three more runs in the second inning. Kevin Keyes was plunked by a pitch to start the frame and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by David Hernandez. Connor Rowe drew a walk and Keyes and Rowe moved into scoring position on a double steal. Tucker punched a seeing-eye single through the middle of the infield to plate both runners and balloon the lead to 3-0. Tucker stole second base and moved to third as Stanford catcher Ben Clowe heaved the throw into centerfield. Tucker scored on a throwing error to home on a grounder by Brandon Loy to stake the Horns to a 4-0 lead.
