Here is your ACC Recap for March 1st. We only saw two games actually take place with eight cancellations with the weather in the southern part fo the USA.

Miami (FL) 16 Florida 2

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The 10th-ranked University of Miami baseball team finished off a sweep of No. 12 Florida with a dominant 16-2 win Sunday afternoon in front of 3,038 fans at McKethan Stadium. The three-game sweep for Miami was the program’s first against Florida in the regular season since the 2001 season.

Miami (6-1) pounded out 20 hits en route to the victory – the team’s highest single game hit total since recording 26 hits against Virginia on April 24, 2004. The Hurricanes out-scored Florida (5-3) in the three-game set, 24-to-8, after winning the first two games of the series, 8-5 and 2-1.

Four Hurricanes finished the game with at least three hits, with senior Dave DiNatale leading the way with a 4-for-6, three-RBI, three-run performance. Junior Chris Herrmann also drove in three and scored three, finishing 3-for-4 on the afternoon. Sophomore Yasmani Grandal went 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored while junior Scott Lawson – recording a rare seven at-bats in a nine inning contest – finished with three hits, a RBI and a run scored.

Boston College 19 Samford 13

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Boston College baseball team posted more than 10 runs and 20 hits for the second time in as many games and it defeated Samford, 19-13, in the final game of the FGCU Classic at Terry Park Stadium. Sophomore Mickey Wiswall recorded a career-high five hits in the game.

In the last two games, the Eagles have scored 35 runs on 45 hits. They have scored six or more runs in three different innings the last two days.

Wiswall finished 5-for-6 on the day with a pair of doubles. Junior Robbie Anston tied a career high with four hits and eclipsed his personal best with four RBI. He also hit his first career homer. All nine players in the lineup had a multiple hit game. Freshman Brad Zapenas went 3-for-5 with a double and junior Barry Butera had two hits including his second triple in as many games. Junior Tony Sanchez and sophomore Mike Sudol both had homers.
