Joey Kenworthy agrees to play for Victoria Generals

The Victoria Generals’ infield solidified today, as Joey Kenworthy from Texas Tech agreed to accept Chris Clemons’ invitation.

Coach Clemons was pleased with his latest ‘home run’.

“Having coached against Joey while I was at Baylor, he stood out as a young man that played the game the right way. He gave 100% all the time. As a pitching coach, he was the guy I did not want my guys to face with runners on base. Joey always seemed to come up with a big hit. I am very excited to get to work with him.”

CBB Visit: Welcome To the Beach…Now Go Home!

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Even though the geographic region of Southern California is somewhat of college baseball’s mecca, with nationally ranked squads within a thirty minute drive of one another, I was pleasantly surprised to be sitting in traffic on the way to the Dirtbags home opener.  It being February, and the support for both the Long Beach State and USC baseball squads this early in the season was quite surprising.  Obviously, last years season of success for the Dirtbags is still carrying momentum into this season, which brought the biggest crowd in Long Beach State baseball history, what actually looked much bigger from within, a tally of 3, 342 fans at Blair Field.
