CO-HITTERS OF THE WEEK

Jeremy Harding, C, Sr., Texas-Tyler

Texas-Tyler senior catcher Jeremy Harding ( Houston, TX / Cy-Springs HS) went a perfect 8-for-8 with five doubles and six RBIs over a doubleheader sweep of Castleton. Harding scored four runs.

Jeremy Hogan, C, Jr., Ozarks

Ozarks junior catcher Jeremy Hogan ( Carthage, TX / CHS) went 4-for-5 with two home runs, one triple, one double and six RBIs in a win over Williams Baptist. Hogan scored three times and walked once. He was a single short of the cycle.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Jonathan Reeder, LHP, Jr., Texas-Dallas

Texas-Dallas junior left-hander Jonathan Reeder ( Plano, TX) tossed five innings of scoreless relief with five strikeouts, allowing just one hit against a Whittier team that had totaled five runs and seven hits over the first four innings. Reeder picked up the win.

WEST DIVISION

HITTER OF THE WEEK

Javier Arrieta, SS, Jr., Sul Ross State

Sul Ross State junior shortstop Javier Arrieta ( El Paso, TX / Mt. View HS) went 6-for-10 with three home runs and six RBIs over a three-game series with the University of Dallas. Arrieta, who connected for back-to-back blasts in Game 1 and hit all three long balls over Saturday’s doubleheader, walked three times and scored four runs.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Brad Orosey, RHP, Fr., Texas Lutheran

Texas Lutheran freshman right-hander Brad Orosey (Houston, TX / Cypress Creek HS) picked up wins against both Trinity and Cal State-Eat Bay, scattering six hits and striking out 10 batters with no walks over 11 2/3 innings. Orosey allowed just three runs – one earned. He made his first collegiate start against Trinity and threw 6 2/3 innings of relief against CSEB.

HITTERS: East Texas Baptist OF Kyle Pope went 9-for-15 with two triples in a series win over Schreiner. . . . Mississippi College C Jacob Daniel went 5-for-12 with three doubles over four games. . . . Schreiner 2B Ray Martinez went 6-for-14 with one homer and six RBIs over a 1-2 week. . . . Hardin-Simmons C/DH J.T. Armstrong homered twice in a win over Texas-Dallas and notched five RBIs over three games. . . . Texas Lutheran OF Kyle Harvey went 7-for-16, stole three bases and was hit by pitch three times over a 3-1 week. . . .Mary Hardin-Baylor OF Joseph Villegas went 3-for-5 with one triple and three stolen bases in a win over Methodist. . . . Howard Payne OF Taylor Zambreski went 7-for-15 with five walks over five games.

PITCHERS: Texas-Tyler RHP Brett Holland tossed five shutout innings with eight strikeouts to beat Castleton. . . . Mississippi College RHP Brett Hinson allowed no earned runs and struck out five batters over six innings to beat Spalding. . . . Louisiana College RHP Greg Uzee didn’t allow a hit for 4 2/3 innings and beat Texas College. . . . Ozarks LHP DJ Braswell fanned seven in five innings of work to beat Williams Baptist. . . . East Texas Baptist RHP Jake Atchley allowed just two runs over six innings to defeat Schreiner. . . . Hardin-Simmons LHP Sam Walker allowed just three hits over seven innings to beat Texas-Dallas. . . . Mary Hardin-Baylor LHP Sam VanHoozer tossed two scoreless innings of relief to get the win against Methodist. . . . . Sul Ross State RHP Thomas Kellner had eight strikeouts over seven innings to beat the University of Dallas. . . . Howard Payne RHP Will Hood allowed just two runs over two appearances that spanned eight innings to defeat Sterling. . . . Schreiner RHP Matt Valley struck out seven in 5 1/3 innings in a loss to East Texas Baptist.
