Kyle Long will not be suiting up for FSU in 09
Freshman left handed pitcher Kyle Long (son of NFL Hall of Famer Howie Long and brother of NFL player Chris Long) has withdrawn from Florida State University after falling behind academically. Long was also a highly touted offensive lineman out of high school but decided to stick to baseball only with his imposing 6’7 and 280 pound frame. He had a .500 batting average with two homers and 24 stolen bases while posting an ERA of 1.91 with 95 strikeouts in 50 innings at St. Anne’s Belfield High School. The main point in his proposal was that 60 percent of games are won by the home team. This gives the Northern schools who have to start the first three weeks of the season on the road a disadvantage in the RPI.
