The Buff team scored four first inning runs off Bobby Lucas, which helped power them to a 6-3 win in Game 3 of the series. Sean Rocky lead off by hitting the first pitch over the center-field wall and the Buff team sent eight batters to the plate in the inning where they scored four runs on four hits along with two walks.

The Blue team showed some spunk by scoring three runs in the bottom half of the inning. Base hits by Chris Holland, Tom Zebroski and Stephen Oswald accounted for all of the Blues team’s runs. Pat Lehman got the win pitching five innings and striking out seven, walking two and surrendering four hits. Lehman only allowed two runners to reach base after the second inning allowing one hit and one to reach by a Brian Hwang error.

The Blue team added two security runs one in the fifth when Andrew Haberern walked, then stole second and third bases on consecutive pitches. He then stole home when the pitcher Bobby Lucas went into his wind-up with the speedy runner Haberern on third. “I knew I could score on him (Lucas)” Haberern said after the game. “He was not checking my lead and he is very slow in the wind-up”.

Game Four:

The Buff team evened the series at two games Saturday with a 5-4 victory over the Blue team. Junior Jono Chirumbolo led the Buff attack going two for three with two doubles, two runs scored and an RBI. Chris Davis picked up the win giving up two runs in five innings. He scattered five hits and four walks and struck out two in relief of Jimmy Duggan.
The Blue team took an early two to nothing lead when freshman Steven Oswald scored in the 2nd inning on an error by senior Chris Marsicano and junior Tom Zebroski doubled home junior Curtis Eward in the 3rd inning. The Buff team got one back in the bottom of the 3rd when senior Bryan Hwang drove home Jono Chirumbolo with a single off freshman Luke Mirabella.

In the 5th inning the Blue team extended their lead when freshman Ollie Mittag scored on a throwing error by fellow freshman catcher Ryan Thomas and Tom Zebroski drove home sophomore Brendon Kelliher. However, the buff team would rally. In the 4th inning Chris Masicano drove in Ryan Thomas with a triple that got by center fielder Brendon Kelliher who made a diving attempt at the ball.

The Buff team would go ahead for good in the 6th. After walks to Ryan Thomas and Chris Masicano, Jono Chirumbolo brought the buff within one with a double off Luke Mirabella and Sean Rockey followed with a single to drive in two and put the buff ahead for good 5-4.
