Head Coach-Kevin Kocks- Cleveland State

Head Coach Kocks and Cleveland State open the 2009 campaign with a four game series in Atlanta Georgia against Georgia State. The following weekend Cleveland State will travel to Clarksville, Tennessee, to play in the Austin Peay Invitational.

Cleveland State first home game will not be until March 18th when they will play a single game against Bowling Green. Cleveland starts the Horizon Conference with a road trip to Youngstown, Ohio to play Youngstown State in a three game affair.

The Horizon League Conference Tournament will start on May 19th and will run through May 22nd.

2009 College Baseball Schedule- Cleveland State

The UC Irvine Baseball program will play 11 of its first 12 games on the road to kick off the 2009 schedule as announced by head coach Mike Gillespie. The Anteaters will compete for the first time in the Minute Maid College Classic as well as participate in a tournament at Baylor University.

The Anteaters open the schedule with four games against Hawai’i (Feb. 20-22) before traveling to Houston, Texas (Feb. 27-Mar. 1). Opponents for the Houston College Classic will be announced at a later date.

UCI faces Loyola Marymount in its home opener Mar. 3 and then takes to the road to Waco, TX, Mar. 6-8, to face first-time opponents Alabama-Birmingham and South Alabama. The Anteaters will face the host Bears in the programs’ seventh meeting Mar. 7. UCI ends the road stretch with a contest at USC (Mar. 10). FULL STORY

Delaware Baseball Releases 2009 Schedule

Highlighted by contests against multiple NCAA Regional participants and Atlantic Coast Conference foes, the University of Delaware announced its 2009 baseball schedule today.

The Blue Hen baseball team lost three of its members to the Major League Draft following the 2008 campaign, but it still returns a strong group of upperclassmen. Seniors Ryan Reed, who was named last year’s Most Valuable Player, and Kyle Davis (at right), who was selected as the team’s top defensive player, will be called upon to lead this year’s team.
