Brazos Valley Bombers outduel Coppell Copperheads 2-1

A day after absorbing their biggest loss of the season, the Bombers bounced back in style with a 2-1 nail biting victory over the Coppell Copperheads. The Bombers pitching staff only allowed four hits on the evening and compiled 11 strikeouts. The win moves the Bombers back into a tie for second place with the Copperheads and East Texas Pumpjacks at 11-13.

Brandon Godfrey pitched magnificently for the Bombers, striking out nine Copperhead hitters while only surrendering four hits and one run. Chad Colbert enjoyed a breakout performance at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a run, a stolen base and an RBI single.

Dustin Rasco came in to pitch a perfect 9th inning to ice the game for the Bombers and collect his league-leading seventh save of the season. The Bombers will be back home for Kids Eat Free Tuesday to face the McKinney Marshals. Come out to Brazos Valley Bank Ballpark and support the hometown team as they square off against the TCL leading Marshals!
