Fresno State at Long Beach State
Fresno State ventured to Long Beach, CA to take on the Long Beach State Dirtbags in a non-conference game. The Bulldogs fell 2-1 on Tuesday night. The Bulldogs and Dirtbags combined to use 15 pitchers in the game with no pitcher recording more than three innings of work. The Dogs recorded five hits but scored their only run in the top of the ninth. The Dirtbags scored in the second and the deciding run in the fourth. The Bulldogs fall to 28-24 overall while LBSU improves to 28-17.
Louisiana Tech at Louisiana-Lafayette
Louisiana Tech traveled from Ruston to Lafayette to take on the Ragin’ Cajuns. The Bulldogs lost 4-3 in a game that saw seven runs scored in the seventh and eighth innings. Heading into the top of the seventh the game was scoreless when Louisiana-Lafayette scored the game’s first runs. Louisiana Tech answered in the top of the eighth with three runs to take a 3-1 lead. The Cajuns responded scoring the game winning three runs in the bottom of the eighth. With the loss the Bulldogs fall to 20-28 and has lost the last 15 games they’ve played in Lafayette. The Cajuns are now 23-25 on the season.
San Jose State at St. Mary’s
The Spartans overcame a five run deficit scoring eight runs in the final four innings to down the St. Mary’s Gaels in Moraga, CA on Tuesday night. The Spartans have won nine of their last thirteen games and improved to 26-20 overall while the Gaels drop to 22-23-1 overall.
